211 Things A Bright Boy Can Do

211 Things A Bright Boy Can Do

Kind of a mix between the Boyscout manual and a Worst-Case Scenario book, 211 Things has some great pieces of wisdom like manly man knowledge (mowing grass, the perfect punch), entertaining parlor tricks (mind reading) and other strange things that some might find of value. The good news is that this books has so many things that most anyone (even those harboring an X chromosome) would find it useful and that is why this is a book I should be reading.

Debut/The Ninja Handbook

Thanks for stoppin' by! This is the debut post for my new project, Books I Should Be Reading. For those of you that know me are already vaguely familiar, seeing occasional posts of photos in a album with the same name on my Facebook profile. I've decided to make the project bigger and go live with it's own space on the web.

Books I Should Be Reading
started out in a bookstore like most things in my life. I came across a book that looked really interesting, however i didn't want to write down the title because I knew that I would just lose the paper or that I would forget why I wanted to read it in the first place. I instead snapped a photo with my phone intending to have a visual record of it and maybe come back to it later. It wasn't long before I had a memory card filling up with books and personalized license plates (my other hobby). In order to consolidate I had the idea to make a space for them on my profile for everyone to see and comment on. Later I added titles and authors for people could find the book themselves if they were interested; not all of the cover information is visible, this is on purpose.

What is going to be new? Along with the photos I'll be adding how I found the book, why it's cool and anything else relevant I might think up. I will also add a link to where you could purchase the book yourself if you are interested in it., This will hopefully let the vision that I've had long ago shine; that books have personality and need to shown off for the ideas they contain.

I'm excited and I hope that you will frequent often (maybe I will update this more than my other blog). I have ideas for changes in the future, things that might involve you, the reader. And maybe, just maybe, I might get sponsored by some advertisers.

Enjoy,
Without further adieu, Books I Should Be Reading

Ask a Ninja Presents The Ninja Handbook: This Book Looks Forward to Killing You Soon"

Ah, ninja's, the ultimate espionage warrior. Even the likes of James Bond could fall by the sword wielded by one of these cloaked assassins. One of the most famous ninjas of all time, Hattori Hanzo Masanari, had the nickname "Devil Hanzo." The best that ole' JB could come up with is, "Bond, James Bond." Eh, I guess if you've downed a few Vodka Martinis it sounds cooler.

I don't think 007 ever needs to worry, though, about facing the business end of a masterfully brandished katana because the Shinobi never really had a taste for the blood of MI6 agents. Their real rivals have always been, as everyone knows, Pirates. The swashbuckling dogs of the sea have always puzzled me as to how well a competitor they could prove against ninjas knowing their fond taste for rum.

I, myself, have always been on Team Ninja, though the Pirates of the Caribbean movies have made me sway. Being a Ninjutsu hopeful one needs a book like this, a definitive guide on all things ninja. Evasion? Check. Deception? Check. Hand-to-hand combat? Check. Hand-to-sword combat? Check, and check. It's all here and that's why even you need it.

In the photo my friend Neila is holding the book in perfect peaking fashion.
